What is it?

• A data communications technology that allows you to use your telephone for voice and internet at the same time. The download speed is faster than the upload speed.
• It is an “always on” connection, which means when you turn your computer on, you are connected, no dialling required.
• Allows you to use your phone and the internet at the same time.
• There are no “dial up” charges involved so no local or STD calls.
• From 5 to 25 times faster than Dial-up.

Can I get ADSL on my phone number?

ADSL is now available on “ADSL ready” telephone exhanges in the following areas:

• Bacchus Marsh
• Ballan
• Greendale

Availability of ADSL depends on certain conditions:

• Distance from telephone exchange
• Quality of the line
• Type of telephone connection (not available on ISDN lines)

Term of Agreement

The minimum agreement term is 6 months.

Installation

First time activation

• There is a once off $125 line activation fee to upgrade your phone line to support ADSL

ADSL Churn

• This is applicable in lieu of the first time activation fee when you are transferring from another ADSL provider
• For the month on May 2007 the churn fee is $85

Modem

To be able to use ADSL, you need a special modem. You can not use a dial-up modem.

• RTA 1025W Dynalink Wireless Modem Router $149

Changing your plan

• $15 Fee for changing your usage (Eg. 1000mb to 5000mb)
• $55 Fee for changing your speed

Static IP

• $5.50 per month for a Static IP address

Additional Mailbox

• $4.40 per per month for a supplementary account for an existing monthly account holder used for mail hosting only up to 5 Mb

Additional Web Hosting

• $6.60 per month for a supplementary directory for an existing monthly account holder used for hosting an additional web page for up to 5 Mb
